Almora Postal Division came into existence on 07-12-1960. Prior to this it was a part of Kumaon Division with its headquarter at Nainital. It consists of Almora and Bageshwar Revenue Districts barring ten Branch Post Offices of Almora District (Maulekhal) which have been made part of Nainital Postal Division for providing quicker mail arrangement to the people of these areas.

(i) Speed Post: Fast and reliable - charges under one India one rate scheme Rs. 25/- upto 50 grms for any part of India. It also links 97 major countries around the globle.

(iii) Media Post: Print your logo on our Postal Stationary/ Letter Boxes/ Post Offices exteriors and interiors.

(v) Direct Post:- It has been desired to elicit a response from customer of specified areas. Unaddressed Postal Articles like letters, cards, brochures, posters or any other form of printed communication can be sent under this scheme at lowest tariff.

(vii) WUMT:- It is the fastest way to receive money world wide.

(ix) RPLI: This scheme is only for rural public with 'Law premium & higher bonus'.

(x) Saving Schemes: SB/ RD/ TD/ MIS/ PPF/ SCSS/ NSC/ KVP

(ii) Express parcel post:- A contractual service with low tariff that assures express and guaranteed delivery of your parcel upto 35 kg.

(iv) Retail Post:- Under this scheme we accept payment of bills of Electricity Boards, Telecom companies etc besides sales of various forms for UPSC, AFMC, SSC, CAT and JEEP etc.

(vi) e-Post: One can bring his message, documents etc. to the PO on paper or floppy, The PO will scan and transmit it to destination through Internet.

(viii) PLI: This scheme is only for rural employees with 'Low Premium and higher bonus'.

(x) Philatelly: - One can open a Philatelly deposit A/C by depositing Rs. 200/- and the PO will send him new issue of stamps by service Regd. Post. It is a boon for stamp collectors.
